The Tanzania Women Miners Association (TAWOMA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization serving the interest of women and children in mining communities.

Formed in August, 1997 and headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzannia, it 16 regional office branches and 15 local branch offices in all active mining areas. 

TAWOMA's 350 active members include miners, mineral brokers and dealers, service providers, and mine workers.

How and Why to Single Soure and Mine-to-Market for Colored Gemstones and Gold

Eunice will participate on the "Mine to Market" panel. She will specifically share information about TAWOMA, and about the Moyo Gems project. Moyo Gems is a powerful model for creating short, single-source supply chains to protect workers and their communities while making responsibly mined gems to the world market.
